General Functions of the Transport Department
The transport department of the Assembly is to assist the Assembly Formulate and implement policies and plans on transport services within the framework of national policies.

The transport Department shall;
• a) Advice the Assembly on matters relating to transport services in the municipal.
• b) Regulate the use and conduct of public vehicles including the routes and parking places in accordance with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority Acts (Act 569) and Road Traffic Regulation, L12180.
• c) Provide for the identification of public vehicles permitted to operate within the District.
• d) Monitor and Enforce National Transport Policies at the local level.

• 1. Visitation to transport unions for renewal of Drivers Licence and Vehicle licence.
• 2. Monitoring of Transport Operators, Terminals, bus stops.
• 3. Roads Safety Programme.
• 4. Enforcement on transport regulations.
