anagement of the Ga Central Municipal Assembly on Friday, 26th January, 2024, organized a site meeting on the construction, continuation and completion of a two-storey, 12- unit classroom project at Chantan, Abeka Motorway Basic School.
Preceding the meeting was the inspection of the on-going construction of a six- unit classroom with washrooms, offices and storeroom located on the first floor of the complex.
The Project Supervisor accompanied by his team members led the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Mohammed Bashiru Kamara, the Municipal Coordinating Director, John Owusu Koranteng, Assembly member for Nii Okaiman East, Head teacher of Abeka Motorway Basic School, and the various Heads of Departments, dressed in safety wears, to inspect the project while briefing them on the progress of work done.
After touring the project site, the Project Supervisor then briefed management indicating that block work had been completed and currently at the roofing stage.
He said the project is sixty percent (60%) complete and was hopeful the project will be completed within the stipulated time frame depending on cash inflow.
Hon. Bashiru Kamara addressing members present, commended the Contractor for work done so far and for ensuring that safety protocols were being adhered to. He advised the Contractor to ensure that quality of work was top-notch.
The MCE then assured the Contractor of the Assembly’s preparedness and readiness to release funds to ensure that it is completed on time.
Engineers from the Works Department also highlighted a few areas that needed attention and called on the Supervisor to ensure they are resolved.
Assembly member for Nii Okaiman East, Hon. Charles Oteng expressed his appreciation to the Assembly for fulfilling the promise of constructing and continuing the stalled 12- unit classroom block.
