The Ga Central Municipal Assembly (GCMA) embarked on a public awareness campaign to educate residents on decongestion efforts aimed at reducing congestion and promoting a cleaner environment on Thursday, January 16th, 2025. The campaign, which is being led by the Information Services Department in collaboration with the Environmental and Sanitation Unit, aims to sensitize residents on the importance of adhering to designated market days and times, keeping streets clear of vendors and debris, and practicing good hygiene to prevent disease outbreaks. Residents have been encouraged to cooperate with the Assembly's efforts, which include decongestion exercises that will soon commence in the municipality. The campaign has been well-received by residents, who appreciate the Assembly's efforts to improve their living conditions. The Environmental Director has emphasized the need for residents to practice personal hygiene and clean their surroundings regularly to prevent disease outbreaks and traffic congestion. The Assembly's initiative has been praised by residents, who are calling for its continuation. Through public announcements made at strategic locations, including major market centers and busy street corners, the Assembly is working tirelessly to ensure that residents are aware of the initiatives in place. The campaign covers areas including Odorgonno, Anyaa, Nsumfa, Ablekuma Fan Milk, Ablekuma Curve, and Olebu, and will run for two weeks, from morning to evening, Monday through Friday.
