s part of efforts to improve Public Financial Management (PFM) at the Sub-National level, the 2016 edition of the composite Budget Manual for MMDAS has been reviewed with support from GIZ.
Based on the review, the Regional Coordinating Council, in collaboration with the Fiscal Decentralization Unit (FDU) at the Ministry of Finance, organized a training workshop on the Revised Composite Budget Manual for both Budget Committee and Hon. Assembly members of the Ga Central Municipal Assembly on Thursday, 25th April, 2024.
The training is aimed at deepening the knowledge of the Budget Committee and Hon. Assembly members on the revised budget manual to enable them perform their functions in the formulation and management of the Assembly’s budget.
They explained further to the understanding of participants that it was important for them to acquaint themselves with the manual as well as the Local Governance Act (Act 936) so that decisions made can always be established based on existing laws.
