MISSION STATEMENT OF THE NCCE
The NCCE is a constitutional body mandated to create and sustain awareness of constitutional democracy for the achievements of political, economic and social stability through civic education.

MANDATE OF THE NCCE.
The mandate of the NCCE, is derived from chapter 19 of the constitution.
(Article 231-293) and the National Commission for Civic Education Act, 1993, Act 452 mandate the NCCE to perform the following functions;
- To create and sustain within the society the awareness of the principles and objectives of the constitution as the fundamental law of the people of Ghana;
- To educate and encourage the public to defend the constitution at all times against all forms of abuse and violation;
- To formulate for the consideration of Government, from time to time, programmes at the nations, regionals and district levels aimed at realizing the objectives of the constitution;
- To formulate, implement and oversee programmes intended to inculcate in the citizens of the Ghana awareness of the civic responsibilities and appreciation of their rights and obligations as free people; and
- To assess for the information of Government, the limitations to the achievements of true democracy arising from the existing inequalities between the different strata of the population and make recommendations for the re-dressing the inequalities. ?
