he commissioning of a new bottle and sachet water factory at the factory premises in Anyaa marks a significant milestone for the Ga Central Municipal Assembly and the local community. The event was graced by distinguished personalities including Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, MP for Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency, Hon. Edward Ambrose Tsegah, Municipal Chief Executive of Ga Central Municipal Assembly, John Owusu Koranteng, Municipal Coordinating Director, parliamentary candidates.
During the ceremony, Hon. Ambrose Edward Tsegah, emphasized the importance of local manufacturing in boosting the economy and creating jobs. He highlighted that the establishment of the water factory will not only provide clean drinking water but also support local entrepreneurs and contribute to the overall development of the area.
The Minister, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, reiterated the Assembly's readiness to support initiatives that foster economic growth and improve the quality of life of residents. She said, the factory will help reduce the poverty rate in municipality by creating jobs for the youth. “The factory is not only there to generate income but to provide clean water and good health for the municipality, she opined. Hon. Ayorkor Botchway advised the factory workers to operate efficiently and conform to the health and safety standards to ensure quality is achieved.
The commissioning of the factory is expected to enhance access to safe drinking water in the community and serve as a model for future investments in the region. The local leadership is hopeful that this initiative will pave the way for more industrial ventures, eventually leading to sustainable development in Ga Central.
